It's a boy!

Well, we found out on Tuesday that we're having a boy! We are just thrilled; although we would be just as thrilled if it were a girl. It's funny though; I've always wanted a boy first, because I have an older brother and I love our relationship. He's always looked out for me and supported me, and we are best friends now. So it's all good!

1)  One of the most difficult things for me to deal with is a person who picks on someone who appears "weaker" in some way than themselves. I have no tolerance for this.

2)  I drive fast, and aggressively. I'm not a total jerk on the road, I'm just an efficient driver. And no one (except my husband at times!) ever feels unsafe with me.

3)  I tend to be anti-consumerist, and I am a political conservative. Sometimes I think people get confused by this, but I believe that it is truly conservative to find your happiness in something other than what you buy. I'm not saying that I'm an ascetic. I just believe that what you own in this life is not really important in the grand scheme of things.

4)  I used to eat butter-flavored Crisco sprinkled with sugar, and I really enjoyed it!

5)  I don't believe you could put me through any type of medical test that would embarass me. If a doctor tells me it's necessary, I don't care what it is, they can look at it, take pictures of it, probe it, whatever. I'm fine with it. Probably comes from being a nurse; I realize that sometimes discomfort and nakedness is necessary.

6)  I secretly wish that all of my friends and family could live in a commune-type setting. Separate houses, but all on one property. And we would farm and hunt and be mostly self-sufficient. Yeah, I know...I'm a hippie.

7)  I devour books the way that some people devour cake. Reading makes me so happy!!! And the library is just a miracle to me...all of those books in one air-conditioned place! My utopia!

8)  When I was little, my mom found me floating face down in a pool, and she revived me. Thanks mom!
